Thomas Roussel, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, cornea, glaucoma, external eye diseases and comprehensive eye care. 
 

After obtaining his medical degree from University of Iowa, Dr. Roussel interned at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, CA.  From there, he moved to Houston TX, where he completed a three year residency in Ophthalmology at the Baylor College of Medicine.  Next came a year of fellowship in ocular microbiology and immunology, also at Baylor University.  A further two year fellowship in corneal research and surgery took place at Flinders Medical Centre in Australia.  He then moved back to the United States to join the faculty of the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for five years.  He has been with Oregon Trail Eye Center since 1990. 

Currently, Dr. Roussel sees patients and performs surgery at the home clinic and surgery center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  He also travels to see patients and perform surgeries at our Ogallala & Grant, Nebraska, and Douglas, Wyoming satellite locations.
